THINKING about getting married but can't quite afford it? Let us take the hassle and stress out of your big day.
Our Wedding of the Year contest is back for 2010 and you could be this year's lucky couple.
We are giving you the chance to win a free wedding, civil ceremony or renewal on November 7 at the King's Croft Hotel in Pontefract.
Shaun and Rosie at the hotel will provide a sparkling wine toast for up to 60 lunchtime guests, a four-course meal (choice of two menus) with drinks package for up to 60. A Master of Ceremonies will keep order throughout the day. There will be a red carpet on arrival and an evening buffet for up to 100 guests in the evening. Again our winning couple will have a choice of menus and the DJ will be provided for the evening reception. Bride and bridegroom will enjoy the honeymoon suite and room hire for use throughout the day itself.
The full package on offer from the other companies taking part includes:
Stationery up to the value of £100 from Jolly Lollie Designs; wedding dress up to £500 from Cottage Bridals; bride's bouquet and bridegroom's buttonhole from Passion Flowers; wedding cake to a value of £200 from Icing on the Cake; 40 page digital storybook for just £300 from Marlin Images Photography; suits up to £500 with Top Mark Suit Hire; table decorations, balloons and chair covers up to £500 from Balloonin Marvellous; wedding rings up to a cost of £500 with Chapelle; choice of Chrysler 300C stretch limousine or Mercedes E Class for bride or bridegroom with champagne for the journey from A Class Limousine of Eggborough.
The format for our competition is simple. Nominate yourself or someone you know that deserves to win this fabulous prize. Complete the entry coupon with as much information as possible, use separate sheets if needed, as this will be used by the judging panel to determine the shortlist of candidates.
Twenty-four lucky couples will progress through to the interview stages, where they'll be reduced by half, to form the final 12.
These 12 will be our finalists and they will be featured in the newspaper over a period of six weeks, when readers will be asked to cast their vote for their favourite and ultimately decide the winners of the Wedding package.
The closing date for application forms is March 15 and interviews will take place until April 9.
*A wedding, excluding the cost of the registrar, will be provided to the winning couple free of charge. Our winning couple has the option to upgrade to more expensive packages from each contributing company and simply pay the difference. The winning couple must comply with and satisfy the legal requirements as directed by the registrar. Employees of Yorkshire Weekly Newspaper Group or its subsidiary companies are not permitted to enter this competition. All other usual Express rules apply.
