THE jury in the Stephanie Hammill abduction and manslaughter case retired to consider its verdicts today.
The panel of nine women and three men were sent out by the judge on Monday morning.
Former Wakefield-based engineer Ioannis Revenikiotis, 29, denies kidnapping and killing Miss Hammill on November 29, 2003.
Sheffield Crown Court has heard how Miss Hammill got into what she thought was a taxi after a night out in Wakefield city centre.
It's believed Miss Hammill jumped or fell from Revenikiotis's moving Mercedes fearing sexual assault. She was run over and killed by an oncoming car.
The defence say that Miss Hammill left the Greek man's car consensually and she befell an "awful tragedy".
Revenikiotis, formerly of School Crescent, Dewsbury, denies both charges. At the time of the alleged offences he worked for Flanshaw-based firm TQ Environmental.
