Cable firm strikes £2.8m takeover deal

WAKEFIELD-based company Cable-Talk has struck a £2.8m deal with Great Northern Solutions.
Cable-Talk, based on Calder Park, provides and installs cabling systems for computer networks and technical voice systems.

The company is the supplier to HM Revenue and Customs among other large businesses and has a £3m turnover.

The deal has been backed by the Co-operative Bank and Partnership Investment Finance (PIF)

Consultancy and investment company, Great Northern Solutions, was established last year and acquires fast-growing businesses.

Director of the company, David Thompson, said: “Cable-Talk is our first acquisition. It has an excellent reputation in its market place, an impeccable client list and excellent growth opportunities.”

PIF provided £250,000 of mezzanine finance alongside £1.35m from the Co-operative Bank enabling Great Northern Solutions to acquire Cable-Talk’s total share capital.

Investment manager, Andrew Wright, of PIF said: “The prospects for Cable-Talk are very encouraging and the team from Great Northern Solutions brings a wealth of business experience.”
