SOLICITORS in the city had reason to celebrate when their firm was named Law Firm of the Year for a second time.
Switalski's Solicitors, which has its head office at Cheapside in Wakefield, won the title in the 1-30 Partners category of the Yorkshire Lawyer Awards, which were held last week.

ITV's Gaynor Barnes presented Lorrette Law, Switalski's senior partner, and practice director John Durkan with the accolade.

Mr Durkan, said: "We are delighted to have won this prestigious title for a second time. We are extremely proud of the high quality our firm is able to offer – both in terms of the level of expertise among our legal professionals and of the high standards we achieve for our clients.

"It is great to receive this kind of recognition. The fact that the awards are judged by our peers in the legal profession makes it all the more gratifying."

Switalski's, which was last year named by the Legal Services Commission as one of the UK's top ten civil legal aid providers in terms of fee income, also held the award in 2006 to 2007.
