A WAKEFIELD company's expansion plans mean it has become the largest law firm in the city.
Chadwick Lawrence has finalised a deal to acquire Lister Croft Solicitors and the company has moved into a new 10,000 sq ft state-of-the-art office at the Paragon Business Village at Junction 41, Leeds Road, Wakefield.

During the past few years Chadwick Lawrence has undergone a period of sustained growth and substantially increased its staffing.

It is now one of the top 25 law firms in Yorkshire and Humberside, with 14 partners and 220 staff.

Employees and partners from the Wakefield and Ossett offices have re-located to the new premises at Paragon.

Chadwick Lawrence’s managing partner, Jeremy Garside, said: “We are proud to have a modern, vibrant workplace for our staff which will undoubtedly benefit both our corporate and private clients.”

The purpose-built ‘flagship’ office is now the base for 70 of the firm’s staff and seven partners, including its expanding corporate and commercial services, employment and litigation and insolvency teams, who will work alongside its other specialist private client legal services, including family law and conveyancing.

Senior partner Stephen Oakes said: “The new office is a substantial investment in the practice by our Partners and a reflection of our long-term commitment and confidence in the Wakefield district.”

Staff at the Wakefield branch of Lister Croft have also moved into the Paragon offices.

Mr Oakes said: “We are delighted to welcome the staff from Lister Croft into our firm and look forward to the contribution they will make as we continue to develop and grow.”

The Pudsey branch of Lister Croft will continue to operate after becoming one of Chadwick Lawrence’s six offices and will be run by Stuart Lewis Murray.

The firm has offices located across West Yorkshire, in Pudsey, Dewsbury, Halifax, Huddersfield, Morley, Ossett and Wakefield.
