A HIGH-FLYING Wakefield hairdresser is in the final of a prestigious industry contest for the second year running.
Melenie Tudor, of En Route Hair and Beauty in Walton, is one of six regional finalists in the British Hairdressing Awards for the title of North Western Hairdresser of the Year.

The competition – dubbed the Oscars of the hairdressing world – will see her travel to London for a glittering awards ceremony at Grosvenor House on November 23.

She will be up against hairdressers from Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and West Yorkshire at the event, judged by industry experts and fashion journalists.

Ms Tudor said she was delighted to have the chance to add the acclaimed title to a list of awards the salon on School Lane, Walton, has won in recent years.

She said: "To be recognised by your peers as being one of the country's leading hairdressers and being involved in the British Hairdressing Awards is both a wonderful feeling and a great achievement."
