A WEEKEND of celebrations has been planned to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Wakefield Railway Modellers' Society.
The society, which is one of Wakefield’s longest running railway groups, will hold an open weekend at the club house on Back Garden Street, just off Ings Road.
Stuart Roche, 53, the society’s publicity manager, said: “We will have model railways running, there will be people there to explain what we do and the joy we get out of it.”
The free event will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 21 and 22, at 7.30pm.
