A NORMANTON-BASED worksurface manufacturer is predicting a £20m turnover next year thanks to a site expansion.
Sheridan Fabrications, which supplies kitchen worksurfaces to companies such as B&Q and Magnet, recently completed the 75,000 sq ft expansion.

The company, which has its headquarters on Don Pedro Avenue, Normanton, invested £2m into the developmen
t, with £750,000 spent on state-of-the-art machinery.

Improvements were also made to the firm’s canteen, showroom, offices, grounds and car parking with an aim to create a better working environment for employees.

John Blackburn, managing director of Sheridan said: “We celebrated the opening by inviting customers, suppliers and local councillors to an official open day, which was presented by MP Ed Balls.

“Guests were taken on a guided tour of the new site, which included a factory tour plus presentations on all the new machinery and facilities.

“It was a fantastic success.

“The new site has created a working space that will help reduce lead-times, boost productivity and improve storage and dispatch facilities. The new expansion will cope with the soaring demand for our expanding portfolio and from this we expect an increased turnover to around £20m in 2009.”
