TALENTED stage stars of the future could soon be given a chance to shine.
Television actor Paul Nicholas is calling on the people of Wakefield to help set up an acting school for youngsters.
He already runs similar schools in Liverpool, Manchester and Whitby and now he is looking for trained staff to join forces with in Wakefield.
Mr Nicholas, 61, of North London, was best known for his roles in the BBC sitcom Just Good Friends and ITV’s The Royal Today and his hit records Grandma’s Party and Dancing with the Captain.
Karen Roberts, Mr Nicholas’ business partner, said: “We are looking for volunteers who can run a weekly class.
“We were hoping for teachers who would be able to do this outside school hours or anyone with experience of the acting industry.”
The school would be designed to teach youngsters, aged between four and 18, all there is to know about the world of showbusiness in weekly two-hour sessions that would cost £8.
