FIRE eaters, stilt walkers and models will be regulars in Wakefield city centre after a branded clothing shop was taken over by an entertainment and promotions firm.
Monkey Clothing, on the Bull Ring, re-opened in a blaze of glory after being taken on by Huddersfield promotions firm QBC Nighttime Solutions.
The company provides live entertainment for the hospitality market and owners Richard McAspurn and Bruce Mclean hope to promote their new retail venture with a range of unusual acts.
Fire eaters and live mannequins are among the performers booked to appear in the shop windows each Saturday, promoting a wide range of clothing brands.
Mr McLean said: "This is the first time something like this has been done in Wakefield and we hope to bring fresh ideas to the shop.
"The retail market is tough at the moment and we want to make every penny count."
He said the shop would also offer a unique personal shopping service, with free private out-of-hours appointments available.
He said: "A lot of people need to buy what they need for work or a party but are unable to come during the day.
"This way they can ring us up and have an appointment with the sales assistant best suited to their needs."
The shop is also planning the launch of its downstairs ladies' boutique by hosting a VIP night for store members.
The event will take place all day on Saturday, November 1.

Shoppers in Ossett will soon be able to go to a new menswear store set to open in a refurbished unit in a town centre shopping arcade.
Work is under way on a new Klobba menswear store in the Seemore Arcade, on Towngate, which is expected to be open in around three weeks' time.
