BURGER-MOBILES and flame-powered cars of the future were designed by pupils as part of an art competition run by Polar Ford.
Milo Kirk Patrick, eight, was chosen as the overall winner, with his powerful car which runs on fire.
Sue Davies, secretary at the Calder Island Way dealership, said: “Milo’s design stood out from all the rest, it was very colourful.”
Lily Bedford, from Sandal Endowed Junior School, also impressed judges with her burger-themed “quarter pounder-mobile” and was voted the winner of the years 4-6 category.
The four runners-up were Chloe Peters, also from Hendal Primary School, and Nicola Searles, from Castle Grove Infant School, in the infants category.
Christopher Gartside, from Sandal Endowed Junior School, and Molly Hartley, from Jerry Clay Lane School, were runners-up in the juniors category.
Castle Grove Infant School’s William Holgate and Sandal Endowed Junior School’s Ellie Busby both received a “commended” award.
