KETTLETHORPE TENANTS: The Kettlethorpe Tenants & Residents Association meeting thanks to Monica Graham for her hard work in helping make the gala a success. The Police informed us that there were few serious offences on the estate this month however they did warn car owners; not to leave vehicles unlocked or windows particularly opened overnight no matter how hot the evenings are. Home Security Safety Packs were handed out at the end of the meeting. Bob Whyatt from Traffic Highways attended the meeting to discuss concerns over the chicanes. It would appear that the only change we can get, at least until 2011, is a large colourful sign stating "Give Way" being put on each set of Chicanes. Monica Graham informed the group that our recent good news regarding a play area for Kettlethorpe had been dashed due to objections received. The fight will continue and we are looking at another area so we don't lose the funding promised. Several young pupils from Kettlethorpe School will be travelling to London to meet Nick Clegg due to the success of the Allotment they recently took over - as this is working exceptionally well.. It was brought to the meeting that bins are full to overflowing on the estate, we therefore hope to invite a representative from Waste Services to attend our next meeting. A t ea dance will be held every other Friday between 2pm - 4.30pm at Agbrigg Community Centre and everyone is welcome. For further information please ring Reconnect on 01924 274400. The date and time of the next meeting is Wednesday, 18 August 2010 at 7.00 p.m.
