THANK YOU: I would like to say a big personal thankyou to everyone who turned out last Saturday to watch the annual Gawthorpe Maypole procession. I had been very sceptical about taking my daughter on her nursery's float, as we had been warned it woul
d be a long day for them. However, after spending a couple of hours in the morning decorating it and then spending more hours travelling on it, it was worth every single minute that it had taken up that day to see the smile on her face, as well as on every other child's face on that float, as they waved to everyone and everyone waved back at them – you all truly made their day.

SINGAROUND SESSION: Ossett Singers Club will be holding their live acoustic music club every Thursday evening at 8.45pm at the Red Lion, Dewsbury Road, Ossett. Players, singers and listeners all welcome. For further details, please contact Geoff on 01924 279206.

ZIP WIRE CHALLENGE: Trinity Church, Church Street, Ossett is organising a Zip Wire Slide from Trinity Church Tower to help raise funds for either their 'make it hot' campaign or your own chosen charity. The Zip Wire Slide will take place on Saturday, May 24. Places are limited, so please contact Julie Shaw on 01924 263497 for more details.

SUSAN PAINTER: Your fellow companions from the school trip to Holland (about 1964/65) would very much like to hear from you. Please make contact with Linda Hill on 01924 256344.
