Bring along your little mermaids and pirates (fancy dress optional). There will be a children's entertainer – magic, balloons, games, sand and water play, flag-making, outdoor activities, sword making, treasure boxes, face painting, walk the plant and lots more.
STAY AND PLAY: Sharlston Children's Centre is holding stay and play sessions every Friday from 1.30pm to 3pm. Bring your pre-school children for fun activities, stories, songs and rhymes.
SCHOOL NEWS: The date for the swimming gala for year 5 and year 6 teams is Wednesday, June 25. The summer fayre will take place on Wednesday, July 16 at 2pm. The results of the parent survey have been published and some of the future actions which the school is considering include reading workshops, a parent suggestion box, extending SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning), more inspire days, more informal meetings with parents and governors and more informal staff contact with parents.
PARISH COUNCIL UPDATE: The vacancy on the parish council has been filled by Dee Ranson. The two vacancies on the community centre management committee are now filled by Alexandra Devey and Jim Goodfellow. The requested litter bins are still awaited. While one has appeared at the junction of Jubilee Road and Eastville Road, no others appear to have been delivered. Further enquiries are to be made. The two flower tubs along Weeland Road at the entrances to our parish have been vandalised. There are no signs of the missing plants.
GOSSIP FROM THE POST OFFICE: Has anyone found some bricks? The mad maniac on the motor scooter had some in his basket and they disappeared. Now he had a very good reason for carrying these bricks in his basket. He just can't remember what it was.
