LOCAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK: The much anticipated LDF Plan has now been published by WMDC. If it goes ahead a planned, Wrenthorpe will lose a significant part of the green areas which make it such a pleasant village. Are you aware that a total of 691 houses could be built on tracts of land around Wrenthorpe – many of them on land that is now in the green belt (possibly 282 between Bradford Road and Trough Well Lane alone)? A small working party from WRENS and the Community Association attended a consultation at the Town Hall last Saturday and are putting together a response. They are particularly concerned about how bites out of Wenthorpe's green belt were proposed at the last minute and whether due process has been followed. There will be other opportunities to inspect the plans and talk to Council representatives soon. I'll put details here when I know them. In the meantime you can look at the plans on http://consult.wakefield.gov.uk/portal/ and the specific green belt changes map on http://consult.wakefield.gov.uk/portal/spatial_policy/ssp_cd/ssp_cd?tab=files
