PLAY CLUB: A toddler group is held at St James’ Church, Denby Dale Road, every Tuesday morning from 9.30am. This friendly group welcomes parents, grandparents and carers together with their babies and toddlers. Sessions cost just £1.

QUIT FIT NEW YEAR: Get help to stop smoking and keep fit. An eight-week smoking cessation course and exercise class is starting at St George’s Community Centre on January 26. Contact Sheena on 369631 for more information.

JOB SEEKER’S COURSE: Do you want help to get a job? A new, free six-week job seeking course starts on Thursday at St George’s Community Centre, Broadway. A basic food hygiene course will be provided at the end of the job seeking skills workshop. Call Wayne on 369631.

COURSES AT ST GEORGE’S: First steps in computers, level 2 administration and embroidery and beaded treasures are some of the courses that will start at St George’s Community Centre, Broadway this year. Call Wayne for more information.

WESTGATE WOLVES ARLFC: The club is trying to form an under nine’s and U13s team. Youngsters wanting to join these sides will be coached by qualified coaches at this successful club, based at Snapethorpe Annex, Broadway, Lupset. Please contact either Phil Young or head coach Terry Lee on 377232.

WEST WAKEFIELD METHODIST CHURCH: The preacher on Sunday at 10am is Christine Hewitt of Netherton, and at 6pm Rev Henry Dubois of Kippax will lead worship.
