Letter -My gritting was good

Hats off to Wakefield Council! I was pleasantly surprised walking home from work through Ossett on Friday evening to find most of the side roads and pavements had been gritted in preparation for the weekend weather.

Are the council chiefs feeling a little guilty after last year’s episode or was it a case of, ‘why should they have their roads and pavements gritted, let the other taxpayers have some as well’? Cheers.
