I will lose my home
This is just a letter to express my absolute disgust at the Tory party's latest lunatic scheme, namely the rehousing of tenants in "social housing" who are living in houses deemed too large for them, and the ending of the right to occupy indefinitely.
I myself have lived at my present address since the early 1970s, taking the tenancy when my father died in 1985. I was too young to remember previous homes, and I have nearly 40 years of memories in my home. I have spent much money on comforts and furnishings, and I am very content in my home. The Tory idea is to take me out of my home and re-house me elsewhere, to a place I do not wish to live. Typical Conservative policy, attacking the lives of the "little people" while retaining their own comfortable way of life. I worked out today that nearly a third of people in my road would be eligible for rehousing under this proposterous scheme, and if we take this as an average across the land that is one unbelievably large number of one bedroom flats which they are going to have to find. Unless the truth is more sinister will they be obliged to find alternative accommodation?
One thing is for sure - if this cruel scheme gets the green flag I think the European Court of Human Rights will be having to take on extra staff .
I would openly ask what WDH intend to do to ensure our rights to continue to live in our homes are protected.
