Commited? What a joke
I am writing to express my utter disgust at the proposal to charge for parking at Pugneys Country Park.
Pugneys leisure facility has been a feature in Wakefield for many years and is well used by the populace.
In fact it is one of the dwindling facilities in the district.
Clive Hudson's letter (Wakefield Express, April 11) assures us he and his cabinet are committed to improving access to sporting and leisure facilities – what a joke.
This is from the same council who are planning to deprive the people of Wakefield of part of their park to accommodate a rugby stadium, when there is plenty of space at the bottom of Heath Common.
The same council has demolished the only swimming pool we had, and has the nerve to charge us to park on the site.
Perhaps Wakefield Council could use the money it obtained from the car park on Sun Lane to improve the footpaths at Pugneys. I hope they do better with those than they do with the roads in the district.
