Poor Little Bitch Girl by Jackie Collins
I KNOW that this sort of thing sometimes seems like a repeat of a previous book but this one is a bit more than that and it brings previous stories back into the forefront of your mind.
The book is set around three young women in their twenties, the usual rich hunk, movies stars and the mandatory murder.
Our women characters consist of Carolyn, a personal assistant to a state senator, the senator's married of course and Carolyn is having an affair with him as would be expected from a Collins novel.
Denver, she's an LA solicitor, sorry Attorney! And Annabelle, the daughter of two movie stars, who is an upper class New York Madame and only seems to cater for rich and famous men.
We also have Bobby Santangelo Stanislopoulos, yes that's right he's a Santangelo. Bobby is the son of Jackie Collins's most famous and my favourite character, Lucky Santangelo. Bobby owns "Mood", the club to be seen at in New York.
All four characters went to high school together and Bobby's best mate "Frankie" is the boyfriend of Annabelle. Only Carolyn and Denver have kept in touch with each other over the years, Annabelle is too busy with her boyfriend Frankie to care. Confused yet?
Annabelle's mother, who is a famous movie star, is found dead in her bedroom in her mansion in Beverly Hills, she's been shot. And so begins the thrusting together of the five characters and launching the story into full swing.
Jackie Collins will never let the reader down, she's the sort of author that can make the most seasoned reader sweat and the contents of this book make you do just that. As like most of Collins novels it contains the sexy bits and the gritty bits, thankfully though this reads more like a thriller with the right amount of scandal and steam!
