FUNDRAISERS across the city will be seeing red today as they do something 'Funny for Money' for Comic Relief.

Wacky events in the Merrie City include sponsored waxing, circus schools, and X-Factor talent shows.

New Life Pre-school, on George Street ,has already held its red-themed fun day, raising a whopping 285.

The Alpine air will blow in Lofthouse today as residents at West Ridings Resident and Nursing Home take part in a sing-a-long Sound of Music.

A raffle was held to raise extra cash for Comic Relief.

Activity co-ordinator Nicky Holroyd said: "Residents love to listen and sing along to old musicals. We decided that this would be a great way to reminisce, have fun and raise money for Comic Relief at the same time."

Classic comedy will have the audiences rocking with laughter and collection buckets full of cash at a special Red Nose Day night at Bagden Hall tonight.

Tickets are almost sold out, but to grab the last few contact the Scissett venue on 01484 865330.
