Bottles thrown at "stab" scene

BOTTLES were thrown as police responded to an alleged stabbing in Wakefield city centre.
Officers were called to a report of a stabbing in King Street just before 3.30am today (Saturday) and discovered a 24-year-old local man with stab wounds.
A large crowd of 60 people had gathered and a number of bottles were thrown as officers dealt with the incident.
A police spokeswoman said several clubs were closed and crowds were dispersed. The injured man was taken to Pinderfields Hospital where his condition is described as critical.
A 20-year-old Huddersfield man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding and is currently being questioned by police at Wood Street.
