TWO services will be axed as part of a timetable overhaul by bus operator Arriva.
A range of new routes and changes are being phased in by the bus company, which includes the end for the Overton to Dewsbury service and the MC2 Castleford to Normanton service.
The new changes will be phased in between tomorrow and Monday.
Phi
l Stone, managing director for Arriva Yorkshire, said: “Following our consultation we will be introducing some route and timetable alterations in order to improve reliability and meet the needs of our passengers.
“We have worked closely with Metro in order to implement changes that will ensure West Yorkshire has a strong, sustainable network of bus services for the future.
“Some services will see minor timetable changes in order to improve reliability, however due to the closure of Bretton Campus we have had to make changes to the network on the Wakefield to Denby Dale corridor.”
Service 448 and service 935 will be combined to form an hourly service between Wakefield, West Bretton, Scissett, Skelmanthorpe, Denby Dale and Holmfirth.
In addition, there will be three peak journeys operating as the X41, which will run Monday to Friday direct from Denby Dale to Wakefield, and then on to Leeds. The routes of services 443 and 444 will also be changed, and from Mondays to Fridays service 443 will be extended from Hall Green to Barnsley via Woolley Village and Staincross.
New timetables are now available. For full information on the changes, log onto www.arrivabus.co.uk. There will also be information sessions held at bus stations.
