BLOOD sweat and tears made for a picture perfect event at Wakefield College this week.
The media, art and design department’s summer show showcased all the hard work done by students from a range of courses during the last year.

Photographs, clothes and drawings were among the displays at the Thornes Park campus, produced by students studying diplomas in art and design, games development, photography and fine art.

A-level work and higher national diploma photography and interactive media work was on show, as well as that of proud level two City and Guilds floristry and life-drawing students.

Tracy Havill, programme area manager for media, art and design, said: “The students really raised the bar this year and it will be a welcome challenge to aspire to.”

Floristry has proved to be so popular the college is introducing a new two-year, part-time BTEC course in September.

Other new courses include the first diploma in media and the NCFE in ceramics.
