A RE-SHUFFLE in the wake of the latest local elections has seen some key changes made to Wakefield Council's cabinet.
Former councillor and cabinet member for children and young people, Trevor Izon, lost his seat on May 2 and will be replaced in his cabinet role by Coun Pat Garbutt.

Coun Denise Jeffery, deputy leader and current cabinet member for regeneration, will also take on the role of heading up culture and sport.

That position was formerly held by Coun Clive Hudson, who now takes over as cabinet member for environment in place of Coun Graham Isherwood, who is recovering from illness, but will stay on as deputy cabinet member.

Coun Peter Box remains leader of the Wakefield Labour Party and the council overall for at least another two years.

Coun Maureen Cummings has maintained her role as cabinet member for adults and health, Coun Olivia Rowley stays on as cabinet member for community safety and cohesion, and Coun Graham Stokes continues in his role as cabinet member for corporate services.
