A MAN accused of a Christmas Day stabbing in Wakefield has been found not guilty.
Nigel John Tolley, 35, of Warren Avenue, Portobello, was due to go on trial at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday for wounding Christopher Hanson, 25, with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.

But he was told by crown prosecutors that they had decided to offer no evidence against him.

He still faces a charge of possessing three air rifles and an air pistol while prohibited.

Firearms specialists will now examine the rifles and a plea and case management hearing is due to be heard during Tuesday, May 20.

Mr Tolley was remanded in custody until then.
