PARK and walk office workers will be dealt a blow when restrictions are put in place on a busy street in College Grove.
A planning report, which went before a Wakefield Council committee last week, said residents of Eastmoor Road had complained of parked cars hampering their views at junctions and obstructing carriageways and footways.
The meeting heard that many commuters drive to the street, ditch their cars and walk to work in the city centre, or to Bishopgarth Police Training Centre.
The report added the street is also near to Pinders Primary J &I, on Eastmoor Road itself and St Austin's RC Aided J&I, on Back Duke of York Street.
Parking between 8.30am and 9.30am, and between 1.45pm and 2.45pm, will now be banned on both sides of the stretch between Stanley Road and Pinderfields Road.
Double yellow lines will also be put around the junctions of Haigh Moor Street and Moxon Square, and permit holder zones will be introduced for residents.
Opposite Wakefield Pinders Primary School, parking will be allowed for a maximum of 30 minutes between 8.30am and 9.30am to allow parents to drop off their children.
