OLDER people in Wakefield could be missing out on their winter fuel payments.
Everyone aged over 60 qualifies for the government payment. Age Concern Wakefield is now urging everyone in the city who has not received their 2007-08 payment to claim it by the deadline on Sunday, March 30.

Jill Nubley, from Age Concern Wakefield, said: “It is really important that everyone eligible in Wakefield registers for the government’s Winter Fuel Payment and receives all the financial help that they are entitled to.”

For more information visit www.direct.gov.uk or call the Winter Fuel Payment helpline on 0845 9151515. Lines open Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
