Probe into death of man trapped in machinery
AN INVESTIGATION has been launched following the death of a man who became trapped in machinery at a Wakefield printing firm.
Police and firefighters were called to reports of an industrial accident at Bezier on Balne Lane at around 9.30pm on Thursday.
A police spokesman said a 49-year-old Bradford man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Inquiries are ongoing with the Health and Safety Executive and the coroner has been informed.
A spokesman for Bezier said: "We express great sorrow at the loss of a collegue and we are working with the authorities to establish the cause of the incident."
The Bezier group is Europe's largest retail marketing agency and has two sites in Wakefield, the Balne Lane site and its headquarters at Silkwood Park.
The firm has contracts with Asda, Argos, Boots, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Imperial Tobacco, Homebase, and KFC.
