YOUNG fundraisers have been drawing on their artistic talents to raise some much-needed cash to help support a children's charity.
After two weeks of sponsored colouring and quizzes, kids from Hendal Primary School managed to raise a whopping £633 for the NSPCC and Childline.

That cash will go towards paying for another operator to work on Childline to offer expert advice to youngsters in need.

The school council nominated NSPCC and Childline, which came together under one banner last year, as its chosen charity and every one of the 251 children at the school and nursery took part.

Headteacher Christine Platts said: "This was very important because the children were raising money for a children's charity which made it relevant to them.

"Because the money is going towards training another Childline operator, it made it personal for our children because they knew someone was going to benefit from this."
