THE innovative work of Wakefield firms was recognised last night at the First Wakefield District Business Awards.
Larry Hirst, the Yorkshire-born chairman of IBM Europe and Middle East addressed a glittering awards ceremony at the Cedar Court hotel as the prizes were given out.
The winners were:

•Community Enterprise Award: Cream Catering Ltd
•Entrepreneur of the Year: Heather Copley, Farmer Copleys
•International Business: Logicor
•e-Business Award: Web-Translations
