Leanne Sambrook, from Wakefield, will start her full-time role with Craig Gallimore and his catering business, A&S Catering Ltd, in Kinsley, in February.
The 23-year-old was struggling to find work after her mum died, o she signed up for Groundwork Wakefield’s Head Start programme, which is designed to help 18-24 year olds build skills and gain employment experience.

“My local Job Centre referred me onto the Head Start programme and I haven’t looked back since, they’ve been really supportive and pointed me in the right direction. I finish the course in a couple of weeks and can’t wait to start my new full time role and continue with my training.”
The programme is a partnership between Groundwork Wakefield, Job Centre Plus, Wakefield Council, Wakefield College and Prospects.
It offers one to one support, training and practical work experience for young people who have been out of work for 26 weeks or longer.
