Marching bands and parachutists will form part of Wakefield’s biggest ever Armed Forces Day event at Nostell Priory tomorrow.
Wakefield Council chiefs and the National Trust-run stately home have organised a full day of events in a show of support for serving and veteran members of the armed forces and their families, and as a mark of respect to those who have lost their lives serving the country.
Main events will start at 10am and will include performances by 150 TPR Regiment’s marching band, The Ravens parachute display and the Army Cadets Corp of Drums, as well as a helicopter display by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Other attractions include an army vehicle display, a spitfire display and stalls.
It’s free, but charges apply for visits to the house and parking.
