DETECTIVES are questioning two men in connection with an arson attack which destroyed a church.
The two 23-year-olds were arrested last night (Monday) hours after fire ripped through the Church of St Faith’s on the corner of Eastmoor Road and Aberford Road.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at 7.11pm last night.
And they were still at the smouldering grade-II listed church, which was part of Stanley Royd Hospital, this morning and are expected to remain at the scene throughout the day.
A section of Eastmoor Road in front of the church has been closed to traffic in both directions.
