FOOTBALL stars of the future were snapped next to the Barclays Premier League trophy.

Around 300 children came from schools and football teams across the city to see the cup at the Asda depot in Normanton on Monday.

Craig Simpson, the under-six team coach at Altofts Juniors FC, said: “The children were really excited. It was a good day out and a nice atmosphere.”

Asda’s Community Life Champion, Carol Hall, said “It was great to see how much it meant to the c hildren.

“It was also a great chance to ask for donations to Everyman, the charity we support.”

Visitors donated around £530 to the charity.
