Wakefield Paxton Society’s 41st Spring Show was another blooming success.

The flower show was held at Outwood Memorial Hall on Saturday and attracted 334 exhibits from 37 exhibitors.

There were classes for narcissi, pot plants and home baking.

Jeff Rhodes, president of the society said: “We had an excellent show that compared well with previous spring shows.

“The exhibits were of a high quality and we had a steady stream of visitors throughout the show.

“Trophies were presented by Society Patron Norman Hazell MBE.”

The society was set up in 1877 and was the first of several Paxton Societies across the country.
