Blaze at South Kirkby firm
A blaze has gutted a pet food company in South Kirkby.
Firefighters were called to Soltens Coproducts on Langthwaite Industrial Estate at 2am, and have been working there through the night.
Five crews attended from South Elmsall, Pontefract, Hemsworth, Featherstone and Adwick, and diggers had to be used to clear debris.
A fire investigation officer was on scene in the early hours, and will be on site again today. The cause of the fire, which has damaged 60 per cent of the building, is not yet known.
