FIVE retailers have joined Wakefield’s Ridings Shopping Centre.

Fashion chains Bliss and Miss Angel have joined the centre and clothes retailer Cherry Morello is set to open in August.

Charity shop British Heart Foundation and cut-price retailer Bargain World have also announced they are moving in.

Ridings Centre manager Barbara Winston said: “We’re thrilled to welcome on board some fantastic new retailers and to see existing tenants renew their contracts with us.

“The Ridings boasts a wide range of stores and it’s great that we are able to provide spaces for independent retailers as well as some of the bigger names like Marks & Spencer and Boots.”

The Ridings has also announced renewals from fashion retailer Internacionale, mobile phone shop Carphone Warehouse and discount books and art materials store The Works.

The latest lets followed the arrival of independent gift shop Present Days and one-hour printing specialist Transform Images.

Mrs Winston added: “Although times are still tough for a lot of shopping centres throughout the UK, news like this shows that it’s not all doom and gloom and that shoppers can continue to enjoy a wide variety of retailers and a fun shopping experience.

“Based in the heart of the city, with on-site parking, the Ridings is still a popular choice for both retailers and consumers with strong customer flow demonstrating that people are shopping with their feet.”
