Waterstones has re-opened in the city centre.
The book retailer opened the ground floor of its new Kirkgate store, opposite Wakefield Cathedral, today (Thursday).
The company closed its store in The Ridings shopping centre in September with neighbouring retailer Primark taking over the empty unit.
Builders are still finishing Waterstones’ new store, in the former HMV building, but the ground floor is open.
The shop will be officially opened at 10am on Saturday by Yorkshire author Mike Pannett. The family fun day will also include a visit by kids’ favourite Mog the Cat and face painting for children from 1pm until 4pm.
