Bosses at the Ridings hope renewed consumer spending will boost trade in the coming year.
They said discussions were taking place with several retailers with a view to moving in to the centre or expanding their existing premises.
Latest figures show the UK economy grew at its fastest rate since the financial crisis last year.
Centre manager Barbara Winston said: “There is definitely a lot of interest out there. I think people are coming round to the idea that it’s not all doom and gloom.”
Prospective new occupants include a music company planning to open a record shop.
Bloomingperfic Occasions, which provides flowers and balloon displays for special occasions, has also opened a shop at the Ridings.
But clothing retailer Monkey has closed down.
Talks were also ongoing to keep WH Smith at the centre. The newsagent is in a unit set to be taken over by clothing retailer Primark.
