Traders of the future will test out their selling skills at the first ever Youth Market.
On Wednesday, February 26, students from Wakefield College will be selling handmade crafts, cards and gifts at Pontefract Market from 9am to 4pm.
They will also be entertaining shoppers with live music and performances at 10am.
Coun David Dagger, cabinet member for culture, sport and libraries, said: “This collaboration between the Council and Wakefield College will give young people some small-scale retail experience to help them develop their business ideas.
“The students have been hard at work for over a month making items to sell and coming up with a business plan, and we hope lots of people will visit the market to see what they’ve got to offer.”
