POLICE have shut down a cannabis farm in Gawthorpe.
Officers from Wakefield North West Police Team (NPT) raided a property on Owl Lane on Wednesday afternoon.
They found 16 mature plants, which were four feet tall. They also discovered a sophisticated hydroponic growing system.
Police were led to the address thanks a tip-off from thecommunity.
A police spokesman said: “On Wednesday officers from North West NPT uncovered yet another cannabis factory in the Gawthorpe area.
“The factory was just about ready for harvest and officers attended just in time to stop this supply of drugs reaching the streets.”
Police said one person had been arrested and enquiries were ongoing.
