Childrens’ mental health will be the focus of a seminar at Sandal Rugby Club next week.

Organised by Kidz Aware, the event on Friday, October 25, will take place from 9.30am until 1.30pm.

It aims to raise awareness of the support available to children and young people to improve their mental health outcomes.

Speakers will include Young Lives Co-ordinator, Emily Castle, Gillian Archbold of Kidz Aware and Linda Moon from Wakefield’s Child and Adult Mental Health Service.

Kidz Aware recently received a £5,000 grant from the Santander Foundation to fund training and support services for disabled children and their families.

The grant was provided by the Foundation’s Community Plus initiative. Mrs Archbold, Kidz Aware’s diversity manager, said: “ We are so very pleased to have received this grant and thank everyone who filled in the nomination cards, this funding will help us to reach even more people.”
