The city will be transformed into a winter wonderland in the countdown to Christmas.

A range of festive activities will be taking place during the next few weeks.

The build-up starts when singer Jack Walton – who starred in this year’s X Factor – switches on The Ridings’ Christmas lights on Saturday.

Jack, from Castleford, will also take to the stage to perform and sign autographs.

Also joining in the fun will be father-and-son act, Stavros Flatley, who rose to fame on Britain’s Got Talent.
