Gritting teams are working to return transport routes to normal after heavy snowfall over the weekend.

Wakefield Council said made main roads and school routes were being treated as a priority to keep traffic moving this morning.

There is only one school closure to report so far - South Kirkby Common Road Infant School is closed because of a utility failure.

Arriva bus services are running normally, although the 128 and 130 buses are not serving the National Coal Mining Museum or Grange Moor, and the 425 and 427 cannot serve Drighlington Moor and North View Road on journeys from Wakefield into Bradford.

Traffic is heavy on the M1 northbound from junction 38 at Woolley to junction 42 at Lofthouse.

There are also delays on the M62 westbound between junction 31 at Castleford and junction 29 at Lofthouse, and junction 28 at Tingley and junction 26 at Chainbar.

Snow is still causing problems at Leeds Bradford Airport and passengers are advised to check with their airline before they travel.
