Wakefield Wildcats have signed a deal which will see a former player’s company become their new drinks partner.

HB Clark, in partnership with beer distributer Molson Coors, is set to become the exclusive drinks supplier for several bars at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

The company, which has been brewing traditional ales at its Westgate brewery since 1906, is owned by David Garthwaite, who played for the Wildcats in the 1960s.

Wildcats general manager Davide Longo said “The fact that they are a Wakefield company makes it all the more pleasing for us to go into this partnership.

“Supporters can come to a game now and it’s about more than just the 80 minutes of rugby. It’s about a match day experience and having top quality refreshment is a part of that.”

Peter Thompson, national account manager of Molson Coors, said: “This exciting partnership provides the perfect match of great service, great brands and great sporting entertainment for everyone concerned and we look forward to a successful and winning association.”
