CLASSIC motors will be on display in their hundreds at an annual exhibition tomorrow (1st July 2011).
Classic cars, commercials and motorcycles of all shapes and sizes will be on show at the event, hosted by The Fleur de Lys Classic Vehicle Society.
Nearly 1,000 motors were on display at last year’s event.
And proceeds from this year’s show will be donated to a range of local charities, including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Wakefield Hospice.
Organiser Roland Crosby said the event, at Thornes Park near the Horbury Road gate, was promising to be as big as last year’s.
He said: “This is always really hard work but it’s worth it.
“There is going to be a huge selection of cars on display and we’re really looking forward to it now.”
Cars ranging from Rolls Royce, Porsche, Lotus, Aston Martin and more will be on display.
Judging will take place and trophies will be awarded to all the class winners and runners up.
Entering a vehicle costs £3, which includes a free raffle ticket and attendance plaque.
The event, supported by the Mayor of Wakefield Coun Ros Lund, will run from 4pm until dusk.
Anyone wanting to book in a vehicle should contact Bill Bannister on 01924 253738. Late entries are welcome on the night.
