ST PAUL’S CHURCH: This Sunday the service will begin at 11am and will include a baptism. The Rev Gerry Sykes will lead the service and will also be preaching. Funky Faith on Monday afternoon is cancelled for this week only. On Thursday the school will hold its Harvest Festival service in church and further details will come from St Paul’s School for children and parents. The school’s harvest display will be added to later in the week in preparation for the church harvest service the following Sunday when the school choir will be singing.

ORGANIST PULLS OUT ALL THE STOPS: Sue Watson will be pulling out the stops of a different kind on Saturday week when she attempts to climb Pen-y-Ghent to help raise funds through sponsorship to support the repair costs following the theft of lead from the church roof and the refurbishment of the east room of St Paul’s Church. If anyone would like to sponsor Sue on this venture please see any church member.

FLANSHAW URC: There will be a coffee morning with Fairtrade stall at Flanshaw United Reformed Church tomorrow at 10.30am. The service on Sunday at 10.45am will be led by the Rev Ian MacInnes and will include communion. The Wednesday Group will meet at 10.30am.

PHOENIX CENTRE: The Centre will be having a Table Top Sale on Saturday, October 15 between 2pm amd 5pm. To book a place please contact 01924 372108 Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 3.30pm. The cost is £8 per table. Refreshments will be available. Please support the Phoenix Centre.

LINDALE METHODISTS: The church is celebrating its Anniversary this weekend and there will be a concert of light and popular music tomorrow at 3pm featuring The Palm Court Quintet and Singers. This will be followed by tea at 4.30pm and the all-inclusive ticket price is £5. Just turn up and pay at the door. The morning service at 10.30am on Sunday will be led by Major Ken Lawson of the Salvation Army. The Rev Tony Jones will lead the evening service at 6pm. Next Wednesday the village school will be holding its harvest festival in church at 2pm.

PHOENIX BRASS: All tickets for the concert in Kirkhamgate village hall on Saturday, October 8 have now been sold.

FLANSHAW FIRST TENANTS: The next meeting of the Flanshaw First Tenants & Residents Association will take place on Tuesday, October 4 at 7pm at The Accent Housing Complex, Hunt Court, Flanshaw Lane. All welcome.

MUSIC FROM THE SIXTIES: On Saturday, October 15 at 7.30pm the Cawthorne Choral Society will be presenting a concert at Lindale Methodist Church to raise money for Tommy’s, a charity funding research into miscarriage and still birth. Special guests are Sophie Williams and Joseph Wiles, Elizabeth and Jim Ball. Tickets are £3, available on the door.
