COUNCIL MEETING: Crofton Parish Council’s monthly meeting is on Tuesday, October 18 at the Parish Council Centre, starting at 7pm.

NOSTELL: Nostell’s first team are at home tomorrow against Winterton Rangers, meet at 1.30pm for a 3pm kick off. The reserves have no game. The third team tomorrow are away to Inns of Court, meet at 1pm for a 2.30pm kick off. On Sunday Nostell Ladies are away to Altofts, kicking off at 1pm. On Thursday, October 20 the under 19 side have an away fixture against Kinsley Boys, meet at 6pm for a 7.45pm kick off. The match against Crofton Sports has now been re-arranged for Tuesday, October 25 at Nostell with a kick off at 7.30pm meet at 6.15pm.

COUGARS: Crofton Cougars ARLFC have a home fixture tomorrow against Kellingley Welfare, kick off 2.30pm.

SPORTS: Crofton Sports AFC’s first team have no game tomorrow. The second team are at home to Snydale Athletic Reserves. Meet at the Weavers Green at 1pm for a kick off at 2.30pm. Matchball sponsors are Crofton’s Indian Restaurant.

FISHING: The next planned meeting for members of Crofton Fishing Club will be on Monday, November 7 at 7pm in Crofton Parish Centre.

HARRISON ROAD: Motorists will be pleased to hear the news that Harrison Road has now been given the go ahead for surface repairs.

COMMUNITY CAFÉ: At the Crofton Parish Council Centre in the High Street tomorrow from 10am until noon. Free admission, drop in for a cuppa and a chat.

WARHAMMER: For teenagers every Thursday in the library starting at 3.10pm until 5pm.

ART GROUP: Members of Crofton’s Art group watched Carol Sorhaindo, an African and Caribbean-inspired artist, paint a tropical picture of ferns at their meeting last week. The group’s annual exhibition takes place at Crofton Junior School on Saturday and Sunday, November 12 and 13, from 10am until 4pm.

WELCOME: All Saints’ Church last weekend welcomed its new priest-in-charge Jennifer Honeyman who led the harvest thanksgiving.
