NOSTELL: Matches for tomorrow for Nostell MWFC teams are as follows. The first team are at home to Hall Road Rangers, meet at 1.30pm for a kick off at 3pm.The second team have no game. The third XI are at home to Wagon, meet at 12.30pm for a kick off at 2pm. On Sunday there is no game for Nostell Ladies. Other matches at Nostell for the coming week are on Monday, November 14 the under 19 side have an away match against Appleby Frodingham, meet at 5.30pm for a 7.45pm kick off. On Tuesday, November 15 the first team are away to Liversedge, meet at 5.45pm for a 7.45pm kick off. On Wednesday, November 16 the second team are at home to Stanley United, meet at 6.15pm for a 7.30pm kick off.

SPORTS: Crofton Sports AFC have two games tomorrow. The first team are away to Clowne FC in the Rosehill Challenge Cup, meet at the Weavers Green at noon for a 1.30pm kick off. The second team have a home game against Pro-Star FC, meet at 12.45pm for a 2pm kick off. Match ball sponsors are The Dam Inn, Newmillerdam.

COUGARS: Crofton Cougars ARLFC play a league match tomorrow away to Whinmoor, kick off 2pm.

RUNNING REPORT: The weather has recently played havoc with David’s daily run and apparently with our local wildlife. Families of rabbits of all sizes, happily doing what rabbits do, is a rarity now. Hares have also been affected with no sightings over the last 18 months. Hopefully this winter will not be as severe as the previous two, and our wildlife may recover.

REUNION: There will be a reunion with a difference on Friday, November 25, when a bus will leave the Royal Oak in Crofton at 7.15pm bound for a tour of various pubs around Leeds. Any pupil or member of staff who left Crofton High School during 1986 is invited. For more details telephone Clare Newby on 07554 757278.

HEALTH CENTRE: Forty-five patients missed their appointments at the centre last month. Recent sponsored events have raised £33 for Breast Cancer and £32 for Jeans for Genes.

CROFTON REMEMBRANCE: A service of remembrance takes place at All Saints’ Church on Sunday starting at 10am, when uniformed groups will be present, and two minutes’ silence will be observed. Later in the morning at 11.30am a short service and the laying of wreaths and single crosses will take place at the Memorial (across from the Cock and Crown pub) when Crofton councillors will be in attendance.

COMMUNITY DROP-IN: Tomorrow morning at 10am in the Parish Council Centre, free admission with refreshments.

ART EXHIBITION: Crofton’s art group will be staging its annual exhibition in Crofton Junior School tomorrow and Sunday starting at 10am to 4pm. Free admission, refreshments and over 100 paintings for sale.

DARBY AND JOAN: Maureen Rowson officiated at the meeting last week during which pie and peas were served. Pool winner was Joan Martin. The next meeting is on Wednesday, November 16.

CROFTON WMC: Tomorrow evening’s entertainment will be provided by a four-piece live band Big Time Charlie starting at 8pm. On Wednesday, November 16 in the club at 8pm there will be a showcase featuring Tanya Taylor, Andy Lloyd, Phil James, Leigh Tetley and Second Journey, with Dean Hubert acting as compere. This event has been organised by the Wakefield, Pontefract and District Federation of Concert Secretaries.
